Playthings of Mad Gods

Unique Magical Weapons

Fear not the +1 swords! If you want your fighters to have something more interesting than that, then sprinkle some of these beauties in your dungeons. Preferably used by their enemies first, so that they'll learn to respect them.

Seeking arrow (and its associated compass)

Sometimes you can't kill an enemy outright - maybe they require a special weapon, or maybe they are fleeing in a carriage - even then, you might consider sending them this arrow. A small bit of its tip breaks off inside a wound, serving as a lodestone for your compass. It can be attached to another arrow after retrieval.

Basilisk's Defense

This unwieldy shield is covered by an intricate mosaic, the sight of which causes headaches, nosebleeds, confusion and finally loss of consciousness. Just beware of your friends seeing it and enemies with mirrors.

The Rotting Spear

This pungent spear was tempered in the bodies of six victims, each suffering from a different but horrible plague. Anyone hit with it suffers an immediate fever and bouts of vomiting, as their wounds fester. Even if they survive the fight, they are unlikely to survive the following days, when six deadly plagues attack them at once. Just be careful when handling it, as it slowly emits pus that also carries the plagues.

Glass Dagger

This is a misnomer - it is not made out if glass, but out of a wall of force. This means that it is completely invisible, while also being sharper than almost anything else. Many assassins lost their fingers while grabbing it from the wrong side, but even more have killed others with a weapon that they couldn't parry.

Rust-pitons

Made out of enchanted rust-monster's antennae, these pitons feel an attraction towards metal objects - when they pierce one, they cause it to rust into dust within seconds, then fall apart.

Toebiters

Tiny magi-mechanical contraptions, those are released by dozens by evil wizards while fighting or fleeing - they are basically a pair of steel jaws attached to a pair of steel legs. They bite off anything in the shape of a toe they can reach. They can pierce any non-metal boots.

Lightning Rod

A small amber baton with a rubber handle - anything hit with it receives what amounts to a taser hit. A bane of knights.

Boom-hammer

A simple, if reinforced, warhammer that can be loaded with gunpowder and nails. Invented by goblin engineers for peaceful purposes. Very useful in building, even more useful in shooting nails straight into the bodies of heavily armoured targets. Can hold 20 nails and the gunpowder for them at once, replaced by a mechanism that jams on a fumble and a critical hit.

Time-renders

A set of weapons made in the forge of the clock-roaches, these maces can hit someone so hard, that they send them into the future. A person hit with one moves as many rounds into the future as they would decide damage on a normal hit.

Sungun

This gun is loaded by exposing a mirrored box to the sunlight, in order to catch it. It can shoot 10 rays of concentrated sunlight - each enough to blind a person permanently, or badly hurt a vampire.
