Playthings of Mad Gods

GLOG Pseudo-Class: Deep One's Blood

Oh, I know your type. You come from a village by the sea, and you've probably never seen your grandparents. How do I know? It's those eyes, me boy. Oh, no, don't feel offended, they ain't ugly. They're just different than normal. That's cause of your blood - you've got a bit of fish in you. Yeah, I know that's quite a revelation. Don't worry, it's not fatal - most people don't progress past the first few stages and live normal lives - the luckier ones change further, and they can join their brethren in the sea, as they gain their immortality. What, don't look at me like that. Want some salted fish? (This is a pseudo-class, meaning that you add it to a normal class and take both templates at level up. It also comes with severe drawbacks.)

Deep One's Blooded:

Gain a penalty to reaction rolls by normal people equal to your templates in this class.

Fish Eyes: The changes start with your eyes - the irises change and the eyes become bulging, as a second lid grows on them. You are able to see well underwater, regardless of the quality of it. You sometimes get strange cravings for fish.

Gills: Then, they move downwards onto your neck and lungs - you get a set of gills on your neck, that let you breathe underwater. Your skin becomes pale, like that of a drowned man, and you begin dreaming of great underwater cities.

Webbed Hands: Finally, the changes extend into your limbs, giving you webs between your fingers and changing your legs so that it's easier to swim. You have the same speed underwater as on the ground, and become able to drink salt water. Scales begin to grow on patches of your body, and you become slightly hunchbacked. You also begin learning the language of the deep ones, which you can use to speak to aquatic creatures, but for now are limited to simple phrases.

Deep One: Full transformation: any veneer of normal humanity falls away, and you become a creature just as adapted to the land as to water. You gain a bite deal d10 damage as your jaws are filled with sharp and long shark's teeth, but your speech is obviously garbled. You gain claws on both hands that deal d8 damage. You are now fully welcome in the underwater settlements of the Deep Ones. You no longer age, and can fully speak the speech of the deep ones.
